Pipeline news – new privacy settings launched

Hi guys,
Today, we have launched our new privacy settings! This basically means that you, at a fairly detailed level, can decide with whom you want to share what information. Log in to check it out.

This is an important and fundamental step for us in our focus on making it easier for you to connect with each other. The more information you share with each other, the easier it is for us to create great ways to connect, not only through enhanced email invites features, search criteria or Facebook integration, but also through all the activities that you participate in. It’s also a great building bloc for the revamp of our website that we will shed more and more light on as we are getting closer to launch later this summer.

That’s it for now,
Jakob

I've just deleted things from my account page which is not ideal but it's worked..I preferred the old method where we just said what info we wanted to share.

Since the new settings my profile is showing information I do not want it to ie postcode..How do I change this? Seems presumptious of Endomondo to alter this without my say so.I haven't changed anything myself.

I'm glad that there are privacy settings.

I was wondering whether you would consider having a type of friend, eg. Friend I actually know and Friend I know 'virtually'.

I have been put off from adding people as friends as I don't actually know who they are, but I do think the social aspect of this site is amazing.

Sorry to be so paranoid, but I guess your implementation of privacy settings suggest you know where I'm coming from.

Hi all, to answer you questions.

@Jeff - yes, if you use the unique sharing link to Facebook, emails and other places the link will also show the map, so people outside endomondo also can see it.

@Michael - hope you got it to work, otherwise please e-mail us at support@endomondo.com and we will help you out.

@Zoltan - you can share to Facebook already, you can even do auto-sharing look at Settings and Sharing.

@Rutger - yes, this is unfortunately seems like an issue we cannot control, but we will of course try to find a solution.

Thanks, guys sorry for the late answer.

Since a week or so, only a world map is shown when you publish to facebook. There used to be a graph with your track on it.

Good work on the privacy settings, if I only share with friends can I still selectively publish to a wider audience by sending a link from the Share button?
