Warning to everyone who think their bicycles might be insured. I have homeowners insurance on my bicycle. I called my insurance company to ensure my bike would be covered in case I had an accident. I was assured that I was covered if I wreaked my bicycle. Now the insurance company is refusing to reimburse me for my bicycle. They are saying I needed a separate rider on my policy. Even though I was told in the phone call that I did not need one. Make sure your bike is covered by your insurance policy. Get verification from your insurance company in writing. I am out $5,000 for the cost of a new bicycle because the insurance company won't pay out now. On top of the cost of all my medical expenses.

The bike shop is getting my bike done for me by 6 tomorrow just so I can ride with the group at 6:15.. they are going to be upset to find out that I can't ride tomorrow! This CHL class I am taking was a surprise from my father for my birthday. I am trying to figure out how to get the time to run by the shop and pick up my bike anyway and maybe get in a few miles before dark after the class... gotta ride! .... gotta get those points... yesterday was the first day I have missed since I started the challenge on day two.. I did not know about it on day one! Question.. really, how often do you check your standing on the leaderboard.. honesty here? Me, I check at least twice a day if not more.. just plain FUN! Darn I am caught up in this! LOL I even look to see how many miles I might want to put in before I head out depending on how many certain people have already put in that day... crazy!

@tammie - i predict you will do both...lol. I frequently have to remind myself that my miles are not dictated by the challenge but how I feel. I get annoyed (some self censoring here) when I miss a day on the bike so I understand what you are feeling. That said....when I come back.....its even better

@ Tammie I know how you feel! Every time I think about skipping a day, I remind myself that 20 points are hard to make up. As far as fun vs. the leaderboard, 20 years from now what will you most remember from the challenge ? I'm preaching to myself here lol.

Quite a goal @Roberto .. and I was just lamenting the loss of 20 points by missing riding yesterday and probably tomorrow! Last month I was tickled pink to stay in the top 2,000 then I got greedy and am trying to stay in the top 1,000 but by missing a single day it makes it almost impossible.. 2 days and I am completely in a mess! I will be killing myself chasing miles! What we do to ourselves in the name of meaningless numbers on a simple leaderboard! LOL ... all in the name of FUN! I was finally kicked off the top of women in Texas.. it was nice up there for a while... guess I am going to just have to pedal harder and longer... or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Wonder which I am going to do?

Climbing back up the leaderboard. I will have to average 45 miles a day for the rest of the month to hit 1000 miles for June. That will make my fifth straight 1000 mile month. Luckily, I'm going to crack 6000 miles even though January was a tad short. It does get nippy here in eastern PA. If the thunderstorms hold off, I should hit my mark.
