I was able to contact a live official person for the company. they stated that if you win any sort of recognition for your efforts during ANY of the contests, you will have to perform your longest recorded day again, for officials, to verify that you can/did do it. If you can't/fail to prove, you're disqualified.
This makes me so much happier to know because of the certain people that I know are lieing about their mileage will be ratted out to the community as being liars.

Recent AAA figures are about $.46-.75 per mile to drive a car, but that does include insurance which you pay even if your car has cobwebs growing on it.

Have fun on GOBA David, Jody--did it once with my son (also on a tandem) in 2003. We had a great time. I think GOBA this year is in the same general part of Ohio--nice because it's not too hilly.

Ohio Goal Achieved: Ohio has 1,031 riders, which beats our 2012 participation of 838 on May 1. We are at similar levels for the Ohio Community challenge at 489 (now) 490 last year. We are behind in Columbus, but last year it was Greater Columbus and this year all suburbs have their own listing. So Columbus is 226 now and was 324 last year.
