Guess if I had gone a little slower on the way out, i could have gone a little faster on the way in... Avg speed was up at 33,9 at te half way point, but then i turned into what little wind there was, and it suddenly became hard to keep the pace...
Really nice weather for a change... 20+ c for the first time this year (cooled down to around 17c by the time I got back)

Niels Gjerløv was out cycling. He tracked 90.66 mi in 5h:24m:53s. original plan was to do 180k with a 25-27 km(h pace. Started off a little faster and that may have cost too much energy for some of the others. But we don't leave anyone behind!
chilly morning that turned into a nice day (10c -> 15c)

Brian Nielsen Hi Niels
You're surely jumping right (back?) into cycling without any fear. 145K is quite a serious distance and as far as I can see you didn't cycle last year!

Niels Gjerløv Swedes are crazy. Or rather - swedish drivers have very little respect for cyclists. So I've been very reluctant in taking my old bike out since I moved up here in '04. 2 friends of mine convinced me to get going again. Am supposed to be doing vätternrundan mid June. Target for the 293 km is sub 10h. So don't know who the crazy one is? Ps - did quite a bit of cycling before, so it feels good getting back on the saddle.

First race in almost 10y... Rode with a good group. Looking at the splits, it looks like most people got a little tired towards the end. Understandable as it's still early in the season...
15c, sunny and a little windy, but not too much

Nexus Runner WHOA! That's impressive, Niels! Congrats on the race and your 100 km personal best.

May 13 at 21:13

Niels Gjerløv Thanks all... Nexus - the last 100 km was done in the mountains, so can't really compare. Still need to take off at least another 13m :-) That'll happen before the summer is over I hope

5c and rain - lots of rain....
and my 405 doesn't like rain, so couldn't turn it off, when I got back. Took more than a minute before i had dried it out sufficiently to be able to stop the time...

Per Egon Rasmussen 405 is bad in the rain. I always lock the clock in rainy weather ;-)

April 26 at 02:36

Niels Gjerløv you're right Per - I just forgot. Haven't had much rain for a long time up here. It's been mostly snow... ;-)
